Praising God our Virtual Benefit Dinner was amazing! We are so proud of our Pearls and so proud of our Team! Of course, we all had SOME nervousness. You are really putting yourself out there doing something live and something that is going to be on the internet forever! At the same time, we prayed over this event and for each other. We prepared – and we are celebrating how it all turned out!
Angelina contacted Wings of God and asked for a second chance, was accepted, and arrived from prison on February 13, 2020. She says her stay this time is different because she feels a connection to God, has a true relationship with Him, and a sense of peace she hasn’t had before.
“The best part of my day is when I spend one on one time with them sharing my experience and my love of God. I refer to bible verses that relate to our topic of conversation and I can visually see how they process and understand the Word of God. It is like a light bulb that shines in the darkness as they realize how God is speaking to them.”
Can I have just a moment of your time to tell you a quick story? When I walked into work the other day, I was met by one of our resident Pearls who had a job interview scheduled early that morning and she needed a ride.
The 2020 Virtual Pledge for Pearls Bucket Brigade was a success! Thank you Sponsors, Volunteers, Staff, Pearls, and everyone who went to our website or stopped by the house and gave so generously!
Sue Barber, Chaplain at Wings of God, “I asked each of the Pearls to share a unique ‘gift or quality’ that they saw in the other Pearls.”
My name is Sue Barber and I have the privilege of serving as a Chaplain and Board Member for the Wings of God. While it is my responsibility to present a “lesson” for the Pearls… it is I who receives the blessing during our time of sharing. Several weeks ago, I asked each of the Pearls to share a unique “gift or quality” that they saw in the other Pearls.
Here are some of their responses…..
From my heart, I want to share the direction of my thoughts for Mother’s Day this year. My thoughts are heavy as I think of mothers and children that are separated from one another. The separation can be because of death, incarceration, lost custody, deployment, addiction, adoption, and many other reasons.
During these times of us under lock down, we are to draw closer to God. Surrender our old ways of living and look forward to a new way of living and trusting our Father. So let go and let God lead us through our human experience.
It was just a couple of weeks ago that the women at Wings of God took a drive to Silver Beach in St. Joseph, MI.
We wanted to give everyone an update on how the Pearls and staff at Wings of God are doing during the Covid-19 quarantine. The answer is – we are all doing well! Our Pearls are doing wonderful, with amazing grace, settling into the “new normal”
