This is the Wings of God House in Paw Paw, MI, cheerfully decorated for Christmas.

Each year a local landscaping company donates their time and skills to make the home festive for the season! We hope our neighbors enjoy the display, but we also know that lights and garland and bows have an impact on the women who live here.

Having the house decorated for Christmas, both inside and out, wraps the women who live here in warmth and joy – and also normalcy.

Living Room Christmas Tree

“This is the first Christmas tree I have had in years”

This sentiment was shared by one of the women who lived at Wings of God. Her past includes being in jail as holidays came and went, and through the years, drug use and family upheaval hindered her celebrations.

Believe me, after hearing these words, the Christmas tree in the living room became even more beautiful. The evergreen symbolizes everlasting life, a hope and a new beginning. And most importantly, a reminder that she – we – have a Savior.

We know this because of God’s Word. From the angel of the Lord “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today” Luke 2:11a

We share this message of hope at Wings of God, in every season. We love on each woman who lives here and have the opportunity to encourage her daily that she is worth saving.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

Amen and Merry Christmas!
