Not every woman who comes to Wings of God completes the program—and that’s part of the reality of recovery.

Lasting change doesn’t happen simply because someone walks through our doors. It has to begin in the heart. Some women arrive before they are truly ready for the commitment. Others become overwhelmed by the structure and expectations of a one-year program. For some, the pull of addiction is still incredibly strong. Others struggle to let go of unhealthy relationships and people who continue to pull them back toward the life they are trying to leave behind.

Every woman’s story is different.

Sometimes a woman may leave after only a few hours. Others may stay for weeks or even months before deciding they aren’t ready to continue. Whenever possible, we sit down with a Pearl who is considering leaving. We listen. We encourage. We pray. And we help her think through what comes next and, when possible, transition safely to another place.

But there is something that does not change: our love for these women.

Leaving Wings of God does not mean the door is closed forever. In fact, we have seen women leave, spend time away, and later realize that they truly were ready for change. Some have reapplied to Wings of God, returned, completed the program, and are now living healthy, productive lives.

That is why we never give up hope.

We believe God is always at work—even when we can’t see what He is doing. A woman’s story is not over simply because she leaves our home.

As long as there is breath, there is hope. And with God, there is always the possibility of a new beginning.
