Who is eligible for residency at Wings of God?
Any women currently or previously incarcerated who are looking for a faith-based, one year in-house program.
How does one get accepted to Wings of God?
The process begins with notifying Wings of God about your interest via a letter in the mail or contact our office for an interview. You may also complete the program application and mail it to Wings of God.
What if I’m pregnant, can I still come to Wings of God?
Our programming is not set up to accommodate pregnant women or children. But we do offer visits with children during scheduled visitation.
What if I am not from Van Buren County, MI and I have probation, parole, or drug court requirements in another county?
Your court-ordered supervision such as probation, parole, and drug court requirements may be eligible to be transferred to Van Buren County.
Is Wings of God a homeless shelter?
We are not a homeless shelter, jail, KPEP, adult daycare, mental health institution, domestic violence shelter, or bed and breakfast.
How long will Wings of God hold a bed for me?
No more than 30 days, however, this is negotiable on a case by case basis. We suggest you contact us 60 days prior to your desired placement date/release date.
Do I have to come right from jail if approved?
Yes. If you are currently incarcerated we want you coming directly to Wings of God; we will pick you up at the jail. Failure to do so may disqualify you from our program.
Do I have to be a Christian to apply?
The simple answer is no. There is no requirement to be a Christian to come to Wings of God. Wings of God Transition Home does provide a Christian living environment where Christian principles are taught and the Word of God is shared daily. It is our hope that you would choose to become a follower of Christ.
How do I inquire for a loved one or friend that could benefit from the program?
Wings of God requires that the person in need of help contact us directly. Family/friends who want information about the program can review our webpage and/or contact us with any questions. We would also be glad to pray with you.
Can I be sentenced to Wings of God?
Yes, provided you have been approved by Wings of God and the court also approves the placement.
Can I be on probation, parole, or other court programs?
Yes, however, we cannot accept those with restraining orders on or against them.
Can I work full-time while in the program?
Pearls are allowed to work part time (25-30 Hours) during phase 2 (after completing 60 days in phase 1). Once they are in phase 3, which is around 6 months in the program, Pearls are allowed to work full time. They must work around programming and classes. We do not allow third shift work hours.
